How to add AA number after the booking is made

I didn't know I can earn AA miles until the booking is made.
Is there anyway to add it online or can I add it during online check in?
Thanks!

You can only earn AA miles on certain routes.

I would just call the customer service, and ask them to add it provided it's a qualified route of course..

I just sent a email and am waiting to hear back. If my fare basis is OH14BO2U, I can assume that is a booking class "O", right?

Also, as a reference, here are the routes covered: http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea...&title=jetblue

Seems like a good move to credit miles to AA most of the time. Any word whether they count towards elite qual?

They don't. There would be a listing on the AA site for Elite-Qualifying miles with the base miles. See "Base Miles (elite status qualifying)" the British Airways page: http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea...es/british.jsp, compared to just Base Miles on the JetBlue page (I have a BOS-DCA qualifier on B6 coming up that I'm crediting to AA, fortunately I don't need EQMs for this year on AA).
