I stand corrected. Thanks.
Hope you're doing well. Haven't seen you here for a while.

Thanks for all the responses.
I'll only be taking the JR West from KIX to Kyoto, spending a couple of days there (mostly on foot), and then hopping on the Shinkansen to Tokyo.

I suggest purchasing a One-day Kansai Area Pass on arrival at KIX. That will save you money on the Haruka fare to Kyoto. For your transportation needs in Kyoto, I recommend the one day bus pass - 500yen per day.

Kind of OT, but I greatly prefer ICOCA over SUICA. SUICA has an ugly-... mascot which is completely unappealing, whereas ICOCA has the awesome Ico-chan, a completely ugly mascot which is so terribly addictive. I think I own him in at least 5 different sizes, and I am not kidding. :P Even my 6-month old son stopped crying and started laughing when I showed him an Ico-chan plushy doll.

I'm sorry, but this is total winnage.

[edit] doh, pic doesn't show - oh well. do click the link please.

What are the details? That would certainly make life easier!
