following on from this post, press releases i can find say this hotel will open in jan 2007, but there seems to be a dearth of solid information so if anyone can find any news on this, input would be much appreciated!

Bump.

Any further reviews yet? Has it even opened yet? Looking maybe at April, as prices seem extremely reasonable! Also are there any better websites for the hotel as the ICHG website is rubbish.

It has opened as I just received an email from a FTer RA who is currently staying there. A bit bumpy opening, according to his message, so they've comp'd everyone currently staying there. I will ask him to post more details when he gets a chance.

Indeed I would be interested in hearing as well as just booked two nights however could cancel if it was 'a building site'.

Anyone with any photos of the area and not artists impressions?

LOL.... SH found me....
OK i did stay at this Hotel the day it opened maybe even the day before...
ITs very close to the airport and a really nice place.. the CP is RIGHT beside the hotel and it was going to open in one week
I was one of 5 rooms checked in... the STAFF was AMAZING... really really good..... the hotel ended up comping my rooms because nothing was ready.

I am a RA and the upgrade was to a room with a better VIEW??? I did mention I am a RA and they said this is all they will be doing for RA... I didnt bother giving them any grief over that issue... they did not have any gift for RA's and No fruit basket till the second day...

However I dont think you should really consider my stay "important" for any of that information... the hotel was really not open... my second night had almost no guests either...

THe Breakfast buffet ...... was one of the BEST ever... the view to the Canal was amazing.. and the location when its finished will be amazing

Cool, thanks. What was the lounge like for evenings?

I just asked via email what RA upgrade is and they said:

"As a valued Royal Ambassador, you will be getting an upgrade to a Superior Suite with Club lounge access if you book an Executive room. However please note that the Suites are not available until mid December, 2007."

I think you would have received a better class of room, but they just werent available.
