After further review, we have confirmed that you are not eligible to earn the 5, 000 bonus points for 5000 POINT PLATINUM BONUS OFFER per general promotion criteria. For reference, the target of said promotion is Gold Elite members. They will earn the 5, 000 points or 1, 000 miles once they have achieve Platinum Elite status, and since you are already a Platinum member prior to registration you will not earn the points.

What happened to the Stay X promos? Are there really none which run from August 1 onwards?

I can never seem to find any... I just made a three night stay reservation for Columbus, at Hilton because there is NOTHING to be found for Bonuses on IHG. Either would have served me fine, but.....

"A very special offer for our ambassador members"
100% bonus points for Ambassadors buying points. Runs until 26th August. I assume its for all ambassadors, but don't know if the emailed link is account specific so won't post it.
Best return is for 26K points and above. Gets you 52K points for $299, or 0.575c per point.

Points+Cash works out at 0.700 cents versus this offer at .575 cents, so 0.575/0.700 = .821 , an 18% saving, on a $280 4nights p+c award booking purchase you save $50 based on 18% saving.
I would rather book as points+cash 10K every nightI book at time I book, I have enough points earned not to need to churn p+c with cancelations.

Not sure worth using link unless you have immediate use for points right now or booking more than four award/points nights in one day, as points+cash with award nights purchase is limited to 40K per day, which can be an issue if booking a weeks stay on points.

regarding 100% bonus points offer
Moved here as the other thread is for promo announcements only
Clearly anyone that has plenty of points doesn't need to buy them.
Anyone who is likely to need more points than they have/will earn would however be economically unsound to use points+cash over this offer, not to mention the fact that repeated use of points+cash+cancellation is an abuse of the system, which thus far appears to go largely unnoticed, but that's not to say it will continue to be so.

Cheapest standard rate is "26,000 - 60,000 points for $11.50 per 1,000 points", so 50K = $575 (£370) so not that easy to justify buying to use on an award night as cash room normally a cheaper option. Different in 2012 as buying a few thou could get you to renewed plat status which for some made it worthwhile.
"Price includes all applicable fees. Purchased Points are not refundable and are applicable toward all IHG® Rewards Club awards. Members may purchase a maximum of 60,000 points per calendar year and receive as a gift a maximum of 60,000 points per year. Please allow 24-48 hours for points to post to appear in the recipient's account. All other IHG® Rewards Club Terms and Conditions apply."

For our Ambassador members
Dear Djjaguar,
As a token of our appreciation, we'd like to extend a very special offer to our Ambassador IHG® Rewards Club members. Purchase IHG® Rewards Club points between 12 August and 26 August and you'll get 100% more in bonus points. That's right—double the points to use on Reward Nights, car rentals and much more.
So is this good?
