Crowne Plaza Guatemala City (Master Thread) - no longer a Crowne Plaza
I had an inferior stay at Crowne Plaza Guatemala city.
I'm platinum, with 30+ nights in 2014 already.
Everything in the hotel was bad.
- very-very old hotel: interior and exterior. It is not CP and IHG standards. Like a cheap asia hotel. All my other hotels in Guatemala were much better, but the price was 25$-45$ night.
- no Pl welcome or any special attention on check in
- no welcome drinks and fruits in a room
- no welcome mail for the manager of the hotel in a room
- no upgrade (room on sec floor, but small and not good)
- no executive floor
- no free breakfast as compensation for closed ex.floor
- booked 2 rooms, got points only for one and non-eligible stay qualification
So I paid 2-3 times more for stay in IHG hotel and get nothing as platinum member. Plus the hotel is terrible.
The only pluses are a free underground parking and check-out at 14:30.
Never choose CP in Guatemala. Think HI and IC may have same attention to platinum members.
Had a problem with HI in Berlin a week before CP Guatemala.
No I think that will move my stays to HH and Carlson worldwide.
