I realize that the 25000 miles "rule" is indeed a tough one. What I meant was that a short walk around a pole does not count. So how about adjusting the rules this way :
By these criteria the itinerary proposed by Freezefactor is a good contender. But can we find a shorter one with two layovers only ? (I didn't)
- An itinerary than crosses all meridians
- An itinerary than crosses the equator
- Departure city is a free parameter

e.g.
March 13 3:15-22:50 GRU-DOH QR 774
March 13-14 23:30-1:45 DOH-DXB EK 846
March 14 3:30-14:45 DXB-PEK EK 306
March 14-15 17:25-17:55 PEK-DFW AA 262
March 15 19:10-7:05 AA 963
51 hours and 50 minutes
You can also route through NRT and then DEN or another U.S. gateway before DFW rather than PEK.
