I've got a 22 hour layover in Brussels Saturday. LAS-SFO-FRA-BRU-DKR.

I won't need my bag in Brussels.

Out of curiosity, if the airline is willing to check the bag through to Dakar, would most of you trust them to do that?

Or would you claim the bag in Brussels, store it, then re-check it?

Nothing valuable in the bag, but if it's not on my flight to Dakar, there could be problems. I fly to Gambia 21 hours later on a local airline and the overland to Guinea-Bissau.

That's a lot of connections. I might just pick it up and recheck it since you'll be several remote stops down the way if it gets lost.
