Rome service is seasonal to EWR & IAD
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiumici...tional_Airport

United doesn't service Venice directly

A good resource is to check the Wikipedia page of the airport(s) in question, in this case Rome FCO and Venice VCE.

United doesn't fly to VCE airport.

As a general piece of information, details about each airline's schedule are listed on the airline's website. The link for the United website is listed in a previous post.

More details for the above post about seasonal service -

From Newark to Rome, nonstop service through Nov 3 and then resumes March 28.

From Dulles to Rome, nonstop service through Oct 24 and then resumes April 7

I didn't know this until yesterday when our family friends informed us they were taking this flight but apparently PHL - VCE exists (and on an A330 - crazy).

IAD - FCO, ORD - FCO, EWR - FCO exist on UA (crazy that they are seasonal at this point).

DL also flies JFK - FCO year-round (I believe there are multiple flights a day with a couple on Alitalia) and a seasonal ATL - FCO.

There may be others, that is as far as I got

Where are you seeing ORD-FCO?

DL having year-round makes sense is it is a Skyteam hub just like UA having many many flights to FRA.

Since this query relates strictly to UA, the thread has been moved to the dedicated United Airlines forum where it should receive more knowledgable attention.

NOTE: This thread originated at the flame-free Information Desk — please reply accordingly.

Thanks all!

From the west coast, the best routing is SFO-FRA and connect on Lufthansa to FCO or VCE.

Delta flies to VCE seasonally also from both JFK and ATL on 767s (JFK-PSA also, though on a 757). Though can't say I ever thought it was crazy .

You can also get an easy connection to most airports in Italy through FRA. We visited Florence last year and the schedules using FRA were better than connecting through FCO. And it was cheaper.

Via MUC is another option; there are less connecting LH flights & less cities served, but they're served by Air Dolomiti as LH's regional flights--and EN is a rather pleasant little airline. And connecting at MUC is 1000x easier than at FRA.
