Best value J flight - but where to stay? [six days on the east coast of India]

Not being able to miss my team play Brentford on Boxing Day, I'm now booked in at the Hilton at T4 Saturday evening and the family are flying to Chenai the following day.

We return in time for school having spent new year in a new and wonderful land.

We burned 120k Avios but spent less than £450 each. Less than the tax on a redemption booking! Oh earned some Avios too.

So, where to stay. Beach is good. So is luxury. Budget is very very flexible.

Six days on the east coast of India. Recommendations please!

Have you looked on the India board on the destinations section as this has nothing to do with BA?

I'd check the news if I were you. Last I heard, much of Chennai is under water right now.

It's actually very topical with regards to the £700 off for 30k Avios.

I was highlighting the great BA deal I got under the current promotion and seeking the advice from fellow FTers who may have travelled to this area before.

Is a great forum usually. But I will always come last on point scoring as I don't partake. One nil to you sir

I don't believe there was an element of 'point scoring' going on, but a suggestion that a 'destination specific' part of FT would be more beneficial to you is one that should be considered.

You asked for information on the destination - many may perceive how you got there and the price you paid as irrelevant.

Yes Chennai is currently under water but will hopefully be in a better state when you visit.

Indeed I wasn't 'point scoring' just directing you to a more appropriate FT board.

I'm not even sure how doing that is point scoring

This thread has been moved to the India forum where it is now better positioned to harvest input from members with knowledge of the region.

Park Hyatt Chennai is also very very good. A quick search will show you rave reviews.
