The link in post#2 (several weeks old) does not say JFK-BOM is being canceled.
They were going to cancel JFK-BOM in favor of ATL-BOM, but ATL-BOM has been canceled.

Good luck to those who hold award tickets for rather busier times of the year for VFR travel to India -- DL management is going to give many such customers yet another reason to stop hoarding Delta and Northwest Airline miles.
