air india does not have access to that snack bar. at least that is what the website says and what happened with me last weekend (i was flying biz). only 9w and priority pass are using that snackbar. also, the whole terminal is quiter than that shady restaurant.

A place like Goa needs a much better lounge nevertheless.

I got lounge access at GOI last week - at the "restaurant" upstairs. AI J and LH*G. In the back was a roped off section for other airlines too. But there was no lounge invite at check-in. Just a lady who escorted me thru security and then took me upstairs to the restaurant and asked me what I wanted from the menu. It was then "taken care of."

After reading the Wiki, it's still a bit unclear to me:
1) Are *G customers traveling internationally (but not traveling on AI) given lounge access in BOM?
2) Do you need lounge passes to get into the lounges in DEL when flying AI? If so, how is this done if DEL is a connecting point?
3) Someone above mentioned only one pass to the BOM lounge when flying on AI. Is this consistent with others' experiences? Will the lounge agent permit entry for a second person?

Why would AI access for *A Gold passengers be any different than any other *A airline? I understand its India but I dont see why this would make *G lounge access to AI lounges any different? I imagine that the *G and +1 could enter AI lounges no differently than an LH, LX, AC one... Is it so uncommon for *G not to be admitted to third party lounges used by a *A carrier as this certainly hasn't been my experience?

The *A website shows access for *G at BOM and DEL. I didnt check other airports. Why would you suspect it would not be allowed which would be in violation of *A lounge access?

No problem getting in to the Maharaja lounge at MAA for international flights, but they've eliminated all alcoholic beverage service. Not exactly what you'd expect to see from a new *A member.

Just to briefly offer up some information. I've had several AI flights from DEL, BOM, and CCU in the past few weeks and my UA *G was recognized without issue for check in and lounge including guest. I was also given seat blocking and priority baggage tags. Nothing but good experiences with lounge access and other *G benefits.
