Seat selection for OW Ruby on IB operated?
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has had experience selecting a seat on a BA flight number but operated by Iberia as a BA Bronze/Oneworld Ruby?
I have read in the 'Guide to flying Iberia' that there are problems if you have LHR-MAD-xxx booked on BA.com as online checkin is T-36 for IB and T-24 for BA. But wondering if a BA Bronze could select seats for both LHR-MAD and MAD-xxx at T-7 days on BA.com?

What fare basis is your ticket? Iberia discount economy tickets don't allow free seat selection, even at T-24. They only offer free seat selection to IB+ Gold and above (which is OWS). I'm not sure how it works with other OWS/OWE.

I am new with flying with Iberia (plan to fly them next year within Spain/Portugal), so I am AA exec plat which is Oneworld Emerald. if i buy Iberia "basic" fare, do i get free seat selection and free baggage with my status? or do i have to buy "classic" or "flexible?

IB+ Plata (OWR) get one free extra bag when the allowance is 0 or 1 (so they can at least check one always). IB+ gold (OWS) get free overweight baggage up to 32 kg.
Non-IB OWR do not get any extra baggage, sapphires get one extra bag when the allowance is 0-1, emeralds get one extra bag always. AA and BA emeralds also get the free overweight baggage (32kg).
