Account Hacked this morning

My husband got an email from World of Hyatt alerting him that the "requested changes to his account" had been made. Someone hacked the account, changed information, and redeemed points for a stay in Montreal. I was told by the rep that this was the third call they received this morning.

Did your husband have an easy to guess and/or non-unique password?

Or is there any indication that Hyatt's password "file" was leaked?

Wonder if the root cause for the breach two years ago was ever found:

Thanks for the warning. I've successfully spent down my 300K+ points for award for awards and P+C reservations, so there's not much there of value, but I'll keep an eye on my account.
With much better and stronger IT depts victimized by hackers, I don't suppose we can lay much blame on Hyatt's, but still...

I'll keep an eye on my 257 remaining points, too. And my seven night award reservation for later this year

Unless the award stay was sold to some "unsuspecting" party.

I remember reading an article in The Independent newspaper about a similar scam in the UK. British Airways (IIRC) miles were being used to book hotels for prostitution.
