No GP redemption @ PH Vendome (unavailable for certain dates)

Was looking to book PH Vendome for 12/26/14 - 12/29/14 and comes back with message saying rate/offer not available - checked 12/24 and 12/25 and its available for pre increase rate of 22k/night as is Hotel de Louvre for 12/26 - 12/29 and its available @ 18k/night - is it normal for PH to have blackout between Christmas and New Year - thanks

Unfortunately GP rooms book into the Park King/Queen or Twin, which are unavailable on the dates that you have requested. If availability opens up then you should be able to book into those rooms.

However for 3 nights, you could book into a suite, of course that will cost significantly more points.

I stayed 12/31/13 to 1/1/14 at PH vendome and made the booking (with points) a week before. Stayed on 12/22 to 12/24 with points redemption and made the booking a month before. Just keep checking regularly and you may see the availability.

But don't forget that this property goes to cat 7 on 1/7 so booking a suite right now won't cost you that much more if available (33k now for the entry suite rather than 30k for the entry room after).

FYI this property was very hard to book on points. I even called the hotel and they would not open up any dates for point redemption. They were nice but firm. As others have said, continue to check. good luck.

Sep is apparently the peak season of the entire year in Paris, something to do with fashion shows.

I'd recommend (as others have) to keep checking.

We're going to be staying in Paris from March 31st-April 6th (31st-5th in Paris, last night @the CDG Hyatt), but my first choice was the Park Hyatt, and they weren't available for my five nights for the first couple months I looked. We were booked at the Hotel du Louvre for a backup, but lo and behold, my nights came up yesterday and I booked them. Pre devaluation and everything. Holler.

Keep checking, you'll probably find something eventually.

Misleading thread title. I thought it was a change in GP policy.
