Hyatt YYC (Calgary Alberta) USD$79 travelzoo special

Just a reminder these specials do not qualify as paid stays [Edit: for stay credit]. But a good rate nonetheless:

http://hotels.travelzoo.com/international-hotels/215842

We’d never expect to pay under $100 for an upscale hotel near great skiing. But then we found something even better – From Dec. 16-Jan. 22 (12/31 blacked-out), you can stay at the AAA 4-Diamond Hyatt Regency Calgary for just $79 US plus get a FREE upgrade to a Business room, which includes breakfast and 2 vouchers for cocktails. These same rooms often go for more than $200 in January!
Convenient to famous Rocky Mountain towns like Banff and Lake Louise, Calgary is the perfect home base for winter sports enthusiasts. Home to the 1988 Winter Olympics, the city’s Olympic Park offers bobsled and luge rides, in addition to downhill and cross-country skiing. Those preferring to stay off the slopes won’t be disappointed either, with over 1,000 stores, a variety of pubs and clubs, as well as museums and a world-renowned zoo.

To book: Click here to book with Hyatt.com or call 1-800-233-1234 and ask for offer code CALGTZ at the Hyatt Regency Calgary. You must book by December 2.

Travelzoo Tip: Rates will be quoted in Canadian Dollars, so $79US will be quoted as $92CAN.

* Terms/Conditions:
Offer valid at Hyatt Regency Calgary for reservations booked between 11/23/05-12/16/05 for travel completed between 12/16/05 – 1/22/06. To qualify for this offer you must request offer code CALGTZ at time of reservation. Reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance. Offer is not valid with groups/conventions and may not be combined with other promotional offers. Rate is per room, per night and includes full breakfast, local calls and two drinks vouchers and room tax. Rate is based on double occupancy and standard room accommodations: Additional charges may apply for room type upgrades. Additional guests may be subject to additional hotel charges. Offer not valid 12/31/05. Additional promotional blackout periods may be in effect due to seasonal periods or special events. Limited number of rooms allocated for this promotion. I think you still get Diamond amenities, however.

Yes, for me so far so good. For me, 1000 Hyatt points (as the Diamond amenity) is sufficient to make up for the lack of stay credit for the travelzoo rates.

My friends are doing the AAA Promo rate of $79.20 for New Year's Eve at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago. Includes free breakfast, free valet parking and the HYCARD promo can be combined with it.

Again - Travelzoo rates aren't supposed to earn stay credit - therefore beware!!!!

Cheap Travelzoo Rates

This thread is meant to consolidate travelzoo rates as found by FTers. Please do not start new threads on this rate. All threads started with Travelzoo rates will be consolidated here. As usual, the biggest caveat to these good rates are that they're not supposed to earn stay credit (for FFNs or status requalification purposes) although some people have reported that they have earned stay credit on these rates. YMMV.

Also, you can just find what Travelzoo is featuring for Hyatts by going to http://www.travelzoo.com/Results.asp...rKeyword=hyatt .

Note: I've merged several recent threads on these Travelzoo rates without editing - so discussion may seem somewhat disjointed.
