Pointshound for Hyatt reservations

Anyone have any experience using pointshound.com for Hyatt reservations and double dipping on both miles and Hyatt points? It appears you may be able to receive full Hyatt GP benefits

Yes, I've made several reservations through them. Stay credits usually post within 2 days, miles usually post within 2 weeks.

Great way to pick up some extra miles and earn status credit.

Anyone have issues with elite benefits on property using this? I have had Hilton not honor status if I use outside services, not tried with Hyatt

I used the Pointshound site 3 weeks ago to book a stay at Grand Hyatt using the rates that allow status use, and United Miles. I was able to use one of my Diamond upgrades even though I went through PH, and was given night, and points credit at Hyatt.

Are these prices competitive with what you would get on hyatts own website?

I checked various hotels when I first looked into Pointshound. I found their pricing to be 10-20% higher than rates on the hotel's website.

I guess if you can convince your company that you booked a low rate, and rack up lots of miles, it's good. For anyone self funding, or facing scrutiny on bookings, I'd avoid it.
