Great indoor/outdoor pools and a huge hot pool, steam in the locker room. Hotel has 2 wings and not connected in lower floors. Got lost going back to my room.
Was offered 4 diamond breakfasts so my colleagues staying at the hotel got to shared my benefits. I thought this is only for family, no complaint here. I think we paid RMB960+ using the elite rate. I would rate breakfast 8.5 out of the 10 for being in China. Excellent offering in both Western and Chinese dishes.
The location is a little out of the way and they will need to call a taxi for you if you don't have rides. I would definitely stay here when I visit Ningbo again even if this is out of the way. Very peaceful resort and it was nice to waking up with a great view of the lake.
1. Any recent stays/reviews of the resort?
2. Are there any alternatives to the resort itself in terms of restaurants, within walking/biking/easy taxi distance?
3. Anything to see within walking distance of the resort, beyond its grounds and the lake?
4. Would July or August be too hot or crowded there? How would late October be?
5. Finally, any advice on the best (and worst) times of year to go there?
Thanks for any advice!

From what I heard the resort is quite far away from other restaurants/shops.
Maybe check tripadvisor...
I am thinking about going end of january but just a one night stay.

Review: Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort and Spa (Park Suite King) (0 Photo)
Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort and Spa
We had a very enjoyable stay recently at Park Hyatt Ningbo. Our stay was on a weekday and there were not a lot of guests (we were told by the hotel staff that it is very busy during weekends, when room rates are also much higher).
On arrival, we were escorted to the front desk for check-in by a friendly associate. We were given discount coupons for the Yue Hu Spa and Dining Room (but not for Seafood House). We were then escorted to our suite.
Park Suite King
I used a DSU to upgrade my booking from a standard room to a Park Suite King.
Like kuponuts, youhavebeenupgraded and holtju2, I was also allocated suite 213. As they have already give a detailed description and have shared photos of the suite, I won’t review the suite in detail again. It was still in a generally good condition, with the exception of the red curtain dividing the bedroom and the bathroom and the controls for the blinds in the cloakroom (which functioned in a haphazard manner). There was a welcome bowl of fruit and coffee-flavoured cookies in the living room, as well as a welcome letter. There were Acca Kappa toiletries in the bathroom.
As I mentioned in the Hyatt information for families thread, although the suite can technically accommodate 3 people with an extra rollaway bed (the fee for which is waived for Diamond members), I would say that it would be quite tight for space with an extra rollaway bed in the bedroom and it would be difficult to access the cloakroom area behind the bedroom. Also, I think it would be difficult to use the curtain dividing the bedroom and the bathroom as the rollaway bed would be placed in the area between the king bed and bathroom.
There is a connecting door to the adjacent room (214) in the living room of suite 213 (just by the entrance and opposite the additional lavatory). I'm not sure if 214 has a king bed or twin beds.
Floorplan:
Interestingly, the photo for the Park Suite King on the hotel’s website (http://ningbo.park.hyatt.com/en/hotel/rooms/suite.html > Hotel Photos (above Make a Reservation) > Rooms) appears to be the suite above 213 (given that that the balcony is fully exposed without a ceiling). The view of the lake from the Park Suite King that features in the photo appears to be better than the view from suite 213 (as the view of the lake is not obstructed by the branches and leaves of the tree in front).
Dining
The Tea House (open from 11am to 11pm) was a relaxing environment.
Dinner in the Seafood House restaurant was great, with a wonderful selection of local produce (including seafood from Dong Qian Lake). Seafood House is open for lunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm and for dinner from 5 to 9:30pm.
Buffet breakfast in the Dining Room is from 6:30 to 10:30am. As a Diamond member, breakfast was complimentary. The buffet selection was great. There was also a selection of dishes available made-to-order (eggs, noodles, dumplings).
In particular, I would recommend the ç§é¥¼ (clay oven pancake/pie) freshly prepared on the terrace.
We decided to have breakfast outside on the terrace where we could enjoy a wonderful view of Dong Qian Lake.
Facilities
The Yue Hu Spa massage was rejuvenating. I also had the opportunity to use the indoor swimming pool which I had to myself!
There is a business centre with 2 PCs and a printer available for guests’ use.
There are golf buggies to take you around the resort (which is particularly useful at night).
There is a tour of the hotel which leaves at 2:30pm every day (and also 10am on Sat/Sun/public holidays) from the Business Centre.
A full list of activities is available on the hotel’s website: http://ningbo.park.hyatt.com/en/hotel/activities.html
Location
The hotel operates a complimentary shuttle bus to/from Ningbo city centre. The schedule is available on the hotel’s website: http://ningbo.park.hyatt.com/en/hote...portation.html
Ningbo airport is situated around 40 minutes away by car (around RMB 180 by taxi including the motorway road toll). Ningbo railway station is situated around 40 minutes away by car (around RMB 70 by taxi).
Overall
Park Hyatt Ningbo is a tranquil oasis away from the buzz of the city. The staff were generally very friendly. We had a memorable stay and would recommend this resort.
And finally, a small tip – it's worth following the hotel on WeChat to receive the latest information on promotions!
Also, if you see the room descriptions, usually the suites would get access to the lounge. But no mention of a lounge access for suites at this location.

The property itself is gorgeous right on a lake. Nice gardens for walking on the property itself. There is a massive construction pit right next door that is an eye sore but didn't bother us from where our room was.
I'm in an executive suite which seems to be around 130 sqm. Very well appointed and decorated nicely. It's luxurious but comfortable at the same time. I consider it stunning. If you can swing it, definitely book an Executive Suite.
There's a steamroom in the master bathroom which is better than the PH Istanbul one that everyone raves about. The room is 1 million times nicer than PH Istanbul.
Le Labo toiletries which I like and 5100 Tibet water. My room has 6 coffee pods and wide ranging tea for free.
It took me a 3 1/2 hour drive from Shanghai. I don't know how it could be done in 2 1/2 hrs unless you live at the absolute outskirt of SH. Road of course goes over the world's longest bridge which is fun. Easy to drive to. Good roads.
Gym has 26 kg dumbells and kettle balls. No barbell but gym is good. I take exercise fairly seriously and the gym is good enough for a real workout.
The spa area is great with a jacuzzi. I went there every day after the gym and rested. Water at the right temperature.
Food is good quality but a little expensive (300 rmb for a beef salad) but there's nothing else around here. One can order via Ele.Me but we haven't tried. We've eaten every meal on property.
I'm fine w prices as it is a Park Hyatt but be aware there are no cheap food choices. It's like eating at 3 on the Bund every meal, maybe even more.
But the food quality is excellent, both the Chinese and western choices. I pay attention to health and food quality and the food here is good.
Overall, the service was wonderful, especially in the restaurants. The team went out of their way to take care of my family. Housekeeping was also good.
I highly recommend this property. I'll definitely come background .

Was in the same executive suite as last time - still beautiful, as are the grounds. It was lovely just waking up early in the morning and walking along the water's edge.
Staff excellent and remembered my preferences - from berries and decaf coffee pods for me, lotion for my wife and extra water for my son.
The food, esp the Chinese food, really was excellent. Prices were not as high as last time. Breakfast is good but not as good as other Park Hyatts in China.
Overall am excellent property. I'm still surprised so few here go to it or PH Suzhou ( these might be the best PHs I've been to aside from maybe PH Tokyo).
I'm headed back to PH Suzhou thisnweek for my ~ 100 night or so in last 3 years.
