Two down, I wonder how many more to go until Hyatt decides to get an LAX hotel?

Hear! Hear! (Everytime I see a comment to this effect.)

Hyatt.com says both are scheduled to open in 2013. Any further info on these properties?

What happened to these, they were on Hyatt's site a few months ago and now are gone.

Not the best feature from GP, informing about new developments.... I never put much faith in these announcements untill a property has actually opened under the Hyatt brand.

I don't blame Hyatt, it's common practice but I don't count on the property actually opening as a Hyatt until reservations are taken (even then some skepticism until actual opening occurs). Too many things could happen between the announcement and actual opening.

Not a great time for business in Russia, particularly for sinking a lot of capital into an investment aimed at international business travelers, a lot of whom were presumably expected to be there in connection with extraction of oil, gas and other resources from eastern Siberia. I'd be more surprised if the hotels weren't cancelled. It's also an import hub, but between the ruble's ongoing collapse and protectionism in sectors such as the car industry that's probably going to disappoint too.

Update: according to an old report "The Hyatt Regency Vladivostok, Golden Horn and Hyatt Vladivostok, Burny are being built by state-owned OJSC Nash Dom-Primorye." So also maybe some disinclination for a state controlled Russian firm to pay licensing and franchise fees to a US brand. Maybe the hotels are being finished but just not operated as Hyatts.

Still not completed, looks like bad construction management. And may be put up for auction.

not the first time to read this. Hyatt Barcelona is the same... the Mayor has put a hold on all new hotel developments... so what can Hyatt do about that? simply too bad...
