Based on this, I would assume a prepaid rate. Not a big issue on such a cheap rate, but still something to keep in mind.

Too bad it is only one night per person. I would have been able to use 14 nights myself.

I'm guessing their system will crash when everyone wants to book at the same time. Any cool Super 8 properties out there?

Too bad, US and Canada only....

yet...the website shows Wyndham, Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8, Wingate, Baymont and other brands. I wonder if thos $8.88 rate will be offered via all of these brands or only the Super 8?

Terms and Conditions state...

The promotional rate will only be offered on the Super 8 website (www.Super 8.com) from 8:00 PM EDT until 11:59 PM EDT (the Daily Offer Period) each day of the Promotion Period. Once the 800th room night is booked or the Daily Offer Period ends, whichever comes first, no more room nights will be offered at the promotional rate for that day. Only a total of 6,400 room nights will be made available during the Promotion Period.

If it is all of these brands, there will be quite a number of values to be had. Even if it is Super 8 only, and only one night per person and only one room per person, it is still a good value.

Thank you, OP, for this. I would agree that it's going to be a lot like calling in on a radio contest. The website is all about it in huge script. One shouldn't get one's hopes up too high. I must admit that I haven't looked into Wyndham Rewards before. Boy, what a bag of nuts and bolts...

"...Ramada® Worldwide, Days Inn®, Super 8®, Wingate by Wyndham®, Baymont Inns & Suites®, Howard Johnson®, Travelodge®, Knights Inn®, and AmeriHost Inn®"

Well, as a mentor told me way back in my early travel days, "Join them all (the free ones) because you... just... never... know... how your life might change and steer you right into a program you never thought you'd care about. So here goes...

Anyone heard about any real nice Super 8? Like 2-3 star at least. Or there is no such thing?

I've seen some of them referred to as "all-suite." That would be nicer than the standard room.

In my view, the best that can be said about some Super 8s is what they are near. Some in California qualify, but I'm not telling...

That said, maybe it's time to let this thread sink like a rock. (Shame on me.)

I stayed at the Super 8 in Buena Vista, Colorado, in June in conjunction with a whitewater rafting trip on the Arkansas River. I thought it was a decent property, well within the 2-3 star range, and would certainly be a nice bargain at $8.88.

I really enjoyed the S-8 in Victoria, B.C. I need to return there and will really try to get it again.

Now will the $8.88 rate show up before you actually pay or with your have to put down a reservation before you know if you got in?
