The minerals don't bother me. But I lived through an e coli contamination in the early 90s when we had no water for 3 or 4 days. Ever since then.....It only takes one scare to put you off local water^

[maybe it was cryptosporidium - it's been a long time and I don't remember exactly ;-)]

NYC has some of the best I've had - love their tap water (yes, I know that's an odd thing to say)
Not so odd: there's in fact an international water tasting competition, with a special category for municipal: http://berkeleyspringswatertasting.com/

I never drank HK tap water, but that was due to the taste, not safety.

I was researching places to eat for upcoming trip in February. The Lobby Lounge gets good reviews on TA. Maybe it's the views more than the food?

I did have a hamburger there about 10 years ago, think it was $20-30 with a drink.

Now it's 355 HKD for a 200 gram burger, which they say is free-range or grass-fed meat. So about $45.

But I've found plenty of other places with views of the harbor, both in Kowloon and in Wanchai so I may skip the IC.

This is a fun list:

That bar on top of the Ritz Carlton sounds cool but not really an eating place.

I had dinner in the lobby lounge...lobster sandwich...it was pretty good. I think I spent about $40-$50 USD after a cocktail and beer all together. Cool view of the harbour especially when a lightning storm was coming through.
