Golf in HKG

Hi All,

After a little help/advise if at all possible.
I'm off to HKG for a few days in June and wondered if anyone could recommended a good golf course to play/visit. Also if possible is there any reduced green fee websites that you know of?

I have googled and came up with the normal responses but i wondered if anyone had any personal experience.

BTW i am staying at the Harbour Grand.

many thanks
Chris

The only course I've played in HK is the Hong Kong golf club which is private and you need an official handicap to play. Since there are few courses in HK finding a reduced rate will be difficult.

The only public accessible course are:

Kau Sai Chau which is a ferry ride from Sai Kung
http://www.kscgolf.org.hk/

or

The short 9 holes course near the airport.

The best courses are the HKGC new or old course at Fanling but you need to be guested or have reciprocal club membership to play.

You can inquire about a tee time with Fan Ling and Clearwater Bay without being a member...At Clearwater Bay, as far as I remember, they only release very early tee times to non-members. Which at this time of year isn't the worst thing...

Good luck at Fanling. I have no experience with Clearwater Bay.

The hotel concierge might be able to get you a starting time at one of the private or public courses.

Clearwater Bay has a stunning location.

If you don't mind travelling into China you also have dozens (and dozens!) of courses within 90 minutes of HK.

Nan Sha
Mission Hills (depending on your reciprocals)
Lotus Hills

and many more

for just few see http://www.golfguangzhou.com/golfcourses.php

I second the quick hop up to Mission Hills if you really want to golf.
