New Hhonours t&c
Hi
I'm gold VIP Hhonours,been so for two years. I booked 2 hotels this week and on my reservations I noted that unlike previous times, my custom upgrade box was not in reservation. I checked my way benefits and noted new t&c as from 19th July.at first I could not see any differences but on closer scrutiny the upgrade is no longer executive room but' better room eg view higher floor ect.'
An one else can comment?

Technically the HH wording does state that Executive upgrades were never 100% guaranteed as Gold, but thankfully each property can and does use their own discretion.
Best not to hang your hopes on Lounge access, or book an Exec room if you really must have it.

I think something has changed, I didn't think there were black out dates provided a room was available.
Now I see several days when I can't use points at various hotels, but rooms are available.
Am I missing something - were there no blackout dates? and now that's changed?

If there is s standard room available you should be able to book a reward stay. However, if only premium rooms are available, then no reward stays may not be able to be booked.
At least this is how I have always understood the T&C.
