[ArCHIVE to 2016] Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino {ABW}
With Hilton taking over the Radisson in the next few months in Aruba I have to change around some credit cards. Club Carlson is out and wanted to get a Hilton. I have never dealt with Hilton and was just wondering if anyone could take a guess on how many points per night it would go for. I guess looking at Barbados a cat 8?

Sounds about right. Maybe even cat 9 - some US beach properties (I mean regular ones, not a WA or the Bentley) are up there, and Aruba is expensive. They'll want to spike it in the high season.
Good to know that there will at least be a Hilton option down there though. When we were down there last year we ended up doing an airbnb condo rental, which was actually fantastic.

Thread over on tripadvisor says that Radisson management has confirmed the sale of their property to Hilton.
The photo on the linked website does not look like it could be from any hotel in the Palm/Eagle Beach area to begin with because the properties there are at sea level and the beaches extend out a ways. Look in the photo how the water line goes up under the fence/bushes, the perspective is not correct for that to possibly be Palm/Eagle Beach.

What is the count down for? When they take over?
I never deal with hilton points.. When I looked next winter at Barbados to get an estimate on what Aruba might be 111k for one night! That's crazy. I am going to miss my 50k a night club carlson in Aruba

Finally, I never understood why Hilton was not investing in this lovely Island.

Any news on the Hilton Aruba?
All of the threads/posts I've seen have suggested that the purchase would be complete by early May, and here we are without any updates.

Over on the TA thread someone posted that they were told that the transition would take place gradually over 2 years (!). The Radisson Aruba facebook page shows business as usual there. I think this deal may be happening on island time.

Ha, not that I can recall. Though who knows - that was some serious anecdotal information there. There's also whatever date is on that countdown web page that Hilton threw up there a while ago.

Look familiar? It is actually the Sheraton Kona Resort!
