But that shows you what a ruse this devaluation is. Yes, the HGI Rome decreases. But it was 40K a night as a Cat 6 and, according to Hilton's own new hotel-rate finder, it's a 40K a night property as a Cat 5. I see NO months when it is available for less than 40K. So if you consider "not worse than before" as a sweet spot, it shows how bad the devaluation really it...

DoubleTree in KL going from 25k to 10k a night. 5 nights there for 40k is cheap!

That may be the best value in the system, lounge and a Great hotel...Views of the towers are fantastic. Love the hilton here but the Doubletree is a close 2nd. At 10k, I know where i will be.............

You are now getting the 5th night free, brings it down to 32k. This will help members who were not able to book Axon's.

I have stayed there maybe 10+ times and their Gold/Diamond treatment is really good. I have bunch of videos loaded on YouTube from various rooms/suites there. I would not, however, redeem there. Paid rates are usually really low.

That benefit applies only to elite members, who were already able to do the same with GLONs (20% off 5 night stay = equivalent of 1 night free) -- except that there's now no benefit for a 4 night stay (was -15% with GLON), and it's worse value for 6+ nights (was -25%).

10k a night....... Rooms here are usually still arount 100USD a night or more. I never get much more value than 100 per 10k unless your going to the Maldives. To each there own, but this is a great property fully agree with you there, most of my stays last year were hilton here(only DT twice), also one of the best properties in the chain for the $$'s

I saw a Homewood and a Embassy (that I consider booking) remain in the same cat 4, with the VIP 5 nights should be 120,000 pts and new cat 4 get 5th night free with a range of 20,000 to 30,000. So it would be the same 120,000 pts for 5 nights.

Somehow it didn't show the VIP discount though.

The "Suites" at this hotel look new and fresh, but they are very small/pokey.

On top of the safety concerns - particularly for Americans - rumors are that the government is going to stop women from wearing bikinis, sharing the beach with men - NO THANKS.

This would be the end of the beach resorts. Probably they would attract customers from Muslim countries but there is too much competence out there.

A free night after just one paid night? That is possible with the new promotion of 2000 bonus points per weekend night.

2000 Bonus points

1000 Virgin Atlantic Miles that converts to 2000 bonus points

and if you are Diamond you only need a roomrate of 66$ to be able to get the last 1000 points to achieve 5000 points for a weekendnight which is enough for a free stay at Doubletree Beijing or other Cat 1.
