Dublin conrad has gone from a 50k night, to a notional 30-50K night. Using the checking tool shows that it actually ranges 40K-50K. So I suppose that's a drop in points for those 40K months, and adding in the 5 night free, some 5 night stays can be had for 160K points, or 32K a night.

Might have encouraged me to push some MR points to HH, except MR plat in the UK has just lost its HH gold benefit, so no free breakfast etc.

Surely there has to be something out there, right?
Yep let's do that - folks at hiltstone need fresh ideas for the next round...

In fact, looking at the list of re-categorized properties, I assume that some of the new Cat 1s are simply mistakes. When looking at the one in an Asian capital that's moving from 30k to 5k, I can only assume that they meant to move it to Cat 7. Perhaps an American made the category assignments and a European was in charge of data entry and read the "7" as a "1".

I'm sure there are sweet(er) spots in the new chart, but I wouldn't count on all of them surviving until March 31st. I may be wrong with this assessment, but will be using my remaining 600k points to book four Cat 7 AXONs -- and if that Cat 1 hotel in an Asian capital materializes, I'll happily trade my 16 AXON nights for 120 nights there.

With Axon, fourth night was essentially free.

Which enabled five nights for the price of four.

So no change.

For those wanting eight nights (like a Saturday to following Sunday)--AXON enabled two free nights.

Now eight nights requires points for seven (unless the AXON award will continue).

There are 3 Cat 1 Egyptian resorts on the Red Sea. Tickets there are about $850 from JFK via Turkish, or an easy redemption via UA MP points. That is a major bargain (unless there is political instability... on a second thought...)

I have a hard telling where the sweet spots are, because the list is so messed up. I was doing a search for category 1, and came up with several hotel names where it looked like this:

Hotel Name = Category 4
Same Hotel Name = Category 1
Same Hotel Name = Category 6

Obviously they're different hotels, but they don't provide enough information to tell apart which one is the cat 1, which one is the cat 4, and which one is cat 6 (or whatever the other category numbers are).

Why in the world couldn't Hilton put something other than just the hotel name in the list (when plenty of cases exist where they have two hotels that have exact same name, perhaps in different parts of the same city, or in two cities in different states by the same city name)??? Other hotel families are putting the city name, at the very least, along with the hotel name, on their category change lists, but, oh, no, Hilton can't be bothered!

I think DT Kuala Lumpur is a Cat 2. Nice modern property with a great lounge.

I assume that you don't want to reveal which one it is. Can you PM me? Otherwise I guess I will have to do some searching.
