Hilton VIP rewards for 4+ nights went away?

I see on Hilton Website that it no longer offers the multi-night point discounts to Gold/Dia? Anyone know anything?

An HHonors hyperlink

to VIP-only awards does show nothing, but standard hotel awards can still show the GLON discount. I encourage you not to confuse the two award types.

But, GLON is/was a VIP award. This change to their website is very worrying. I hope that it's not a portent of things to come.

Weren't the "VIP only" awards just special package deals that included, say, meals and casino chips and were offered at a select few properties? Very different from the elite multi-night discounts, if I recall correctly.

No, the VIP awards are multi-night discount reward stays available to silver, gold, and diamond members. The link to the sticky thread posted by one of the responders details these awards ("Making sense of Hilton reward options -- AXON, GLON, and everything else").

While these multi-night discount GLON awards still show up when one logs into the HHonors website and does a reward search, I'm troubled by the elimination of the description of these awards on the HHonors website, as noted by the OP. Hopefully, this was done inadvertently by HHonors expert web designers.

This would be a huge negative.

I am sure they are still there. The OP probably just did not realize that Hilton has factored in the discount for the multi night awards when it is displayed on the screen. AXON is a different story. OP is relatively new to F/T.

I had one come up for a booking I made last week in London. Rate was 50K a night and once I signed in as a diamond it dropped to I believe 42,500. Called the diamond desk next day and they rebooked it as an axon for even fewer points. I have had no problems finding the discounted diamond rates online but always have to call the diamond desk for the AXON rewards.

Can anyone do a dummy booking to see if VIP pricing still works? Hilton doesn't like my account and won't let me see any award availability while I'm logged in.

Yes VIP pricing still works. Just checked a Cat 7 hotel.

Just searched a 4 night award and the lower VIP rate shows with this statement "Diamond Only Standard points per night VIP discount applies to 4 or more nights" in the rate details.

As others had noticed, the spot on the website where these multi-night reward stay discounts was described has been changed, with a statement that no VIP rewards are currently available. It is true that one can still see these rates when logging in with your HHonors credentials. What I'm very worried about is whether this change in their website was intentional, in which case this would be a mammoth negative change in the program, or whether it's just an inadvertent omission.

This particular link on the website ("VIP-only awards") has had a rather complete description of the multi-night GLON discounts for years. It's now gone.

I wouldn't say the former website's description was "complete" by a long shot, but it's very true that Hilton has managed to make it even less complete. I've updated post #3 in the sticky thread (noted by 3Cforme above) to address this mishap/error/evil portent.

Well, if it has indeed been removed, then HHonors has really really hit the bottom and this would be all the more reason to get the HHonors AMEX fast!
