Hawaiian Airlines is confused - 2x points for Gift Card Purchases

Hawaiian Airlines Barclay's Mastercard told me point blank "Yes, if you buy Hawaiian Airlines gift cards directly from HawaiianAirlines.com you will get 2x points if purchased with HA Mastercard as it qualifies as a "purchase other than Vacation Package or Duty Free" from the site.

Hawaiian Airlines Customer Service says: "Sorry, Hawaiian Airlines gift card purchases do not count towards 2x points, as it's not a fare-based purchase. You will get 1x points."

What the heck should I do? Ask to escalate on both sides? Hoping someone knows the answer to this for sure?

Buy it at Foodland with an Amex Everyday or PRG.
