HA Online Mall Terms

When you click on united, ebates, discover etc portals it tells you specific items you can't buy such as gift cards or Apple products or whatever.

I can't seem to find anything like this on the Hawaiian mall. But not all purchases get miles it seems. For instance I bought an ebay gift card at newegg and didn't get miles.

Does anyone know the rules surrounding this portal?
