HA33 LAX-OGG diverted to SFO 27 January 2015
Flight status on ExpertFlyer showed it as a mechanical with return OGG-LAX segment CXLD, diverted to SFO about 90 minutes into flight. Anyone with some insider knowledge of the mechanical reason? Seems odd an xLAX aircraft would divert to SFO unless it was faster due to tailwind than getting back to LAX.
