I agree. When and if I ever get real money a PA who can drive me(or a full time driver/mechanic)will be my one luxury. And I like to drive-just do not like parking, traffic, and having to hoof it to the car.

pitbrian is absolutely correct, The London is fabulous! The renovation was a huge success. I remember walking through the hotel when it was the Bel Age and not being impressed. Now, it's the tasteful side of trendy. Mostly black, white, and gold/bronze. The guests seemed to be a combination of rock and roll types, British tourists, and entertainment industry people. I wouldn't say there was a huge gay presence, but I never felt out of place either.

Rooms were good sized; the bathrooms were huge. Next time I'm going to plan a party in the bathroom. The shower alone could easily fit five people! One end had a traditional shower head. The other side had a ceiling mounted rain-type shower head and european type shower on a metal hose.

Even if you don't eat there, have a drink at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in the hotel. If you're into design, your jaw will drop. Someone spent a serious amount of money on the interior.

The pool scene was great. Saturday was a little crazy there, with lots of little parties and groups in the cabanas. I swear I saw Cynthia Nixon with several women friends. And on the other side of the pool was a guy who looked like Adam Levine from Maroon 5. If not him, then his clone. By Monday, things were quieter by the pool, with some Germans looking at casting photos and business people telling little lies into their phones about where they were.

Taking a cue from pitbrian, the first night we went to the valet and mentioned that we needed a ride down the hill. He basically snapped his fingers and a Lexus limo pulled up. We arrived at The Abbey in style, though I'm not really sure anyone noticed....

Two other high points of the trip, unrelated to The London. Monday night, Candice Cayne performed at The Abbey. She's beautiful, and a great performer! Then, just as the plane's tires left the runway on Tuesday morning at LAX, I caught a glimpse of the new Emirates A380. It struck me as short and thick. Not nearly as sexy as a 747 if you ask me.

I was there last weekend too although I went to MJ's at Silverlake on Sunday night for the Porn Star of The Week: Silverlake Edition.

I left Monday night so I didn't get to see Candice Cayne at The Abbey but I was there on Saturday night and then here lounge right next door!

Cheap Place in WEHO

If anyone is ever looking for a cheap place to stay in WEHO
Check this one out:
http://www.altacienegamotel.com/index.jsp
about $70 a night, free parking, Free Ice, Free WIFI and walking distance to Mickeys, Rage, Abbey, Buddah Lounge (if it is going on that weekend)
I prefer to rent a car when I am in LA myself, as I like to meet my friends at the stone on friday and then hit the WEHO clubs later.
Just wanted to put my .02 in in case somone else was looking for a cheaper WEHO option.

Oh my BigGuy you have a story for every hotel

That is a great rate at London. I will be staying the night in LA on October 5th but will probably being staying at the W. I am more a "mint on the pillow" kind of boy.

Thanks for the rainbow rate URL to the London!! I was just in LA last weekend and had so much fun. I stayed at the Ramada and they are remodeling some. The suites are nice but I had some problems with the Plasma in my room and the loft suites are not dark enough if you want to sleep in (well for some). I will probably choose between the Chamberlain, London, and Ramada my next stay.
