Brazilian beach or small town for solo gay traveler
Hi all,
I'm doing a second trip through Brazil in Feb/Mar.
My last trip was Rio and Iguassu.
I am flying into Rio and out of Brasilia. The plan is to head right up to Salvador. I want to explore Sao Paulo since I havent been, so my current schedule is:
Nights 1-3: Salvador
Nights 4-5: ???
Nights 6-7: Sao Paulo
Night 8: Brasilia
I'd like to do a non-city for nights 4 and 5, so I'm thinking either a beach town in Bahia, Florianopolis, or Ouro Preto. Buzios/Paraty seem like they would require a transit through Rio which seems silly unless I skip SP.
Will be traveling alone, an this would be the most relaxing part of the trip I imagine.
Thoughts appreciated!
Thanks

I vote Paraty
Although I have never been to the other destinations, I do know Buzios, Rio, and Paraty quite well. I suggest going to Sao Paulo first and then catching a bus to Paraty. It's a great town with lots to see and do. You can do nature and agriculture tours, boating tours, or just head to the many private and quaint beaches. At night, the food in town is wonderful. Having car can help speed things up.
