Hi I'm looking for recommendations on gay casa particular hosts in Havana. I tried to scan through listings on Airbnb but many listings are posted by middlemen. I saw a few other sites that listed some properties, but honestly the choices were very limited. Any referrals would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I don't have any particular recs, but I was researching the same thing for a possible trip in the future and this is what I came up with. (You may have already found these links, but may be helpful to others). Cuba Connect sounds like a gay travel agency in Cuba. Cuba Junky has an overall listing of hosts, but does denote those that are gay or gay friendly.

There is one near Parque Central. He owns the whole apartment with multiple rooms. I have never stayed there but the rooms are big. Cannot remember his name.

Not gay but happened to see this in the T&D headlines.

Just stayed at one (at the behest of a very gay German publicist who visits Cuba very frequently on buisness) a month ago. It's Casa David (see link below) which is in the south end of Havana Vieja about 4 calles south of the Capitolia area.

Host David does not speak very much English but he speaks German having spent 12 years as a cook there. Don't remember the name of his live-in partner. David's food offerings are of an exceptional quality as a result. His apartment is top floor (70-90 steps up) so very breezy. Shared bathroom however + an additional WC.

Very easily identifiable from the street as there's a huge rainbow flag hanging from the corner balcony.

On the other end of the country, my wife (who has much better gaydar than I do) swears a non-resident gay couple runs Casa Sol y Mar in Gibara.

Thanks for the ideas, at least I'll be able to narrow down my search with the links you sent. I'm thinking I'm going to stay around Vedado, surely there's a large concentration of homos there.

I stayed at this one and really enjoyed it. The hosts were friendly and helpful and well connected. The house was very clean and very centrally located. I highly recommend it.

What do you expect at a "gay guesthouse"? A bathhouse atmosphere or a sex club?

This penthouse is one of the best, probably it is the best, guesthouse in Havana and it is gay-, lesbian-, transgender- and hetero-friendly. It is not a sex club or a sauna and there are no go go dancers.

Beside the rooms at the penthouse you may rent as well rooms in a superb villa.

Staff speaks fluent spanish, german, french and english.
