Fun trip to Berlin
OK. I hope this is a fun request. I'm flying from the east coast to Berlin in June. I'm not going to name the origin city to protect the innocent. Let's assume I can leave from anywhere from ORD-east. I have 24 hrs spare to get to Berlin. Where should I stop en route? I would really prefer that the flights were on one world, but it's not necessary. Iceland?
Due to time constraints, off the beaten path options are going to be difficult.
I am flying business, but can't really add too much to the cost. Great historical sights, beer and great food are all options...London is out.
Thanks!

It's sounding like fun, but as it's not airline specific, it will do far better in the destination forum; we'll move this question there.

If you're determined to stay on OW, and London isn't an option, consider Madrid. Depending on your dates, flights are about the same price (or even cheaper) than the ORD-TXL nonstop, and gives you 12 hours to wander around the area.
Personally, though, I'd add 24 hours to Berlin like LondonElite.

Thank you! I've been to Berlin once before. Maybe I didn't explore enough!
I may do as you suggest and get there a little early...
If you have specific thoughts, maybe a PM might be a good forum.

Btw. if staying with Oneworld is important Air Berlin (AB) would be my choice under the mentioned conditions since they´re Oneworld member.
... and their Business Class has just recently been upgraded so they´re certainly a good option.
The following report might give you an idea:
