Connecting in MUC to TXL. Luggage pickup in MUC?

Connecting in MUC to TXL. Luggage pickup in MUC?
Flying YQM-YYZ-MUC-TXL. luggage is tagged through to TXL but AC agent says I must collect luggage in MUC. Sounds wrong... Advice?

Indeed, which airlines? If it is LH/AC, it will be interlined to TXL.

Sounds like the AC agent is just guessing based on how things are done in Canada and the USA.
If you're flying to the EU you collect your bag at your final destination, and clear Customs there (Customs can tell non-EU bags from EU ones because baggage checked in the EU has a green border around the baggage tag)

AC agent was guessing. LH agent here in YYZ confirmed luggage checked through to TXL. no pick up in MUC, as I thought.

Absolutely. LH will take luggage all the way to TXL before you see it again.

And let's face it, the customs agents at TXL will be half-asleep for a MUC flight..i.e. I wouldn't necessarily expect a very rigorous customs check there.
