1- How do you get this card? Is it one of those invite only?
2- Is it worth getting? Heard of comp flights, rooms, and such.
3- I can only imagine what the comp point level for this card is.

I am currently Platinum for Total Rewards. Can anybody holding a Seven Star share some experiences? Thanks

1- 100,000 Tier Points ($1,000,000 Coin-In at Video Poker or $500,000 Coin-In at Slots --- OR a LOT of high average table play!) [Platinum is 4,000 Tier and Diamond is 11,000 Tier]
After you hit 100,000 Tier they approve the level upgrade, based on you not having any outstanding credit issues etc. etc.

2- Hard to answer, buy itself, not really. Approximately 10x the play of Diamond, and NOT 10x the benefits. You do get a yearly $500 dinner (called you "annual trip") and some other perks (like the 7* lounges -- which are rather limited). You also have a 48hour comp-room reservation guarantee. VIP CHECK-IN (instead of Diamond check-in) where available and when open (in AC, VIP is ONLY open on Saturday and Sunday at properties like Harrah's). You "should" get the best available rooms (and often a suite), but once again, this is often dependent on your theoretical (with regard to the suites). With regard to regular rooms, getting the BEST regular room is basically a given for a 7*. First in line access to restaurants and clubs (though, this is seldom much better than the Diamond benefits). Reservation guarantee for all restaurants, but this can sometimes be a bit YMMV (and once again, isn't often that much better than Diamond).

Best benefits are still based on you having a stellar theoretical (ADT).

One of the interesting benefits, is that you can NAME a friend/relative as a 7* companion, and their card will also be upgraded to 7* -- but, it will (unfortunately) say COMPANION in big letters on their card.

3- Not sure what you are asking, but those who play more will inevitably earn many more RCs (Reward Credits)

It used to be 100,000 tier points, but I think they are using a different system now that makes it up to the player's "home" casino how they offer 7* even if someone qualifies with points.

The tier levels with Harrahs are much different than what you may be used to with the airlines. While there are some hard benefits that kick in with each level, the real benefits are all based on your ADT (avg daily theoretical loss). This number is what determines your soft benefits such as free flights, cash, suites, etc.

In my opinion, the best of both worlds is to keep a decent ADT as a low Diamond. You really don't benefit from getting much over 11,000 tier points especially if you are gambling low amounts over several days. For example, if you stop by your local Harrah's casino on your way home from work a couple days a week and rack up 200 tier points per visit, you'll end up the year as a Diamond but you'll have a low ADT and your offers will not be earth shattering. Now, if you make 3 or 4 weekend trips to an out of town casino per year and drop 1000 tier points per day, then you'll be a low Diamond (11,000-15,000 points), but your ADT will be decent and you'll get some nice offers. I'm part of that 2nd group and we get free rooms pretty much any day of the year with $300-$500 per trip in incentives (travel cash, gifts, tournaments, etc) plus another $300-$500 in comps.

good to know, even though I won't be shooting for it anytime soon. I'm still happy with my low Diamond status. Just keep my ADT (or whatever they are calling it now!) up and the offers continue to flow.

^^^ yep, LOW diamond is most definitely the way to go! Lots of value for the gambling buck. ADT is still ADT, just no "easy" way to get the number --- without asking a host.

Thanks for the input people. I am Atlantic City based for my gaming purposes and just recently broke 4K for Platinum. Am mainly a Hold'em player but also log around 10-15 hrs of blackjack each time I'm in AC (about 8-10 times a yr), amongst other table games. I have split a lot of play between Harrahs properties and The Borgata and was looking to only play Hold'em at The Borg in order to put more points on the Total Rewards card.

At every restaurant or other location where status counts, e.g. the player club, front desk and lounges, there is a blue batphone for 7 Stars members' use. I have always wondered about this. Why would you need to use it and what does it do?

Harrahs casinos in Atlantic City are always running "conversion" offers--you can redeem reward credits for REAL cash--most of the time it is 2:1, about once a year in some casinos it is 1:1. Generally the maximum of cash redeemable is $3000.

Excellent point! It is totally at the discretion of Harrah's if they desire to "reward" one with top status... something to keep in mind when playing to the maximum at Harrah's; as 7*'s is no guarantee........
