Fontainebleau--hotel/condos/alternatives?
We want to hang out at a nice resort for a few nights of adult time before heading to WDW for a family trip. I was thinking of trying the one of the Fontainebleau condos. More room and less expensive than the hotel rooms. Anyone done this?
Also I noted Fodor's refers to the place as having a "bizarre" mix of people and perhaps a Vegas vibe. Ordinarily that would not be our thing; also looking at Acqualina or the St. Regis which seem to be more quiet luxury resorts, which would usually be our thing. The Fontainebleau is a unique historic property and I'm inclined to try it but if it really is loud, garish, etc. then I'd love a heads up to reconsider. We just want to relax by the pool, eat, drink, etc. so location is not important; the hotel property is.
