Orlando non theme park suggestions

We booked Marriott Cypress Resort for a 7 night vacation. But we decided this time not to visit Disney/Universal/Sea World except for a quick peak, if possible.

Whenever we go Orlando we go to theme parks only so we are really not very familiar with other options. I looked around the web and found some but am wondering if area pros has something to suggest.

We are family of 4 with 4yr old boy and 10yr girl.
Wify and I like thrill stuff including speed boats. Of course kids like kiddy stuff and any educational.

Kennedy is a must i guess but what else ...

Depending on when you go there are several waterparks. I think there is some Everglades tours from Orlando.

I am guessing you have looked at this website?

I would recommend visiting Gaylord Palms' ICE show if you will be in town while it is going on. It's great for kids, and the sculptures are impressive regardless of age. Even if you aren't in town during the holiday season, the hotel atrium is an impressive sight and destination by itself: http://www.marriott.com/hotel-info/m...d/home-page.mi

For year-round things to do, Orlando Vic's list is excellent, and I would add a couple additional things:

WonderWorks (I went a few years back and it was a bit cheesy, but overall a fun time): http://www.wonderworksonline.com/orl...ence/exhibits/
The Titanic Experience (I haven't seen the latest exhibition, although I went in 2010 before the redesign and it was fantastic): http://www.titanictheexperience.com/orlando/

Fantasy of Flight museum isn't too far.
Space Center is a must. Daytona Speedway isn't too far either. Also it's a theme park but a bit different there is legoland. It's about 40-60mins from Orlando I beleive.
