QR R class so I assume if AY+ mileage/km accrual is still up to date, then R class should accrue 125%

But I had one flight NOV 21 that posted the next day. And another flight NOV22 that hasn't posted to date. Was a connecting flight same PNR.
Yes, QR R should earn without any issues.
I had a few I fares early november on QR, they posted within 4-5 days IIRC.

I just booked HEL-DOH-MEL for October. 787 for HEL-DOH-HEL and A380 for DOH-MEL-DOH. Now I have to hope for overbooked A380 flights so they'll upgrade me from J to F

CPT-DOH
- Check-in desk in CPT very helpful, improved seating for DOH-HEL
- QR used the Bidvest Premier Lounge, it was OK but rather small
- Seat 12H was not very good, not too much space for my legs (I am 181 cm), there
- Two meals, food was OK, however, the second meal was offerred already 3 hours before landing
- No OWE recognition by FAs

Transfer in DOH
- No additional security control needed
- Long walking
- Search of the correct lounge for an OWE with non-business ticket out of the 12 available lounges was a mesh. At fifth (!) trial we found the correct one (do not remember the name). It was pity that the officers were not able to give correct advice where to go next.
- Lounge OK, small
- Bus gate

DOH-HEL
- Seat OK (8C, first row after the 3 business class rows)
- OWE recognized, nicely "Mr Ukki, what would you like to have for breakfast", showing menu with choices. I did not notice any others asked...
- Small sandwich / pie offerred after take-off
- Breakfast offerred (again) 3 hours before landing! No idea why this was done for a 6:30 hr night flight. It really spoiled the opportunity to have even a few hours good sleep

My second experience with QR (HEL-DOH-ADD/ADD-DOH/HEL, all with 320.

HEL-DOH
- flight delayed appr. 2 hours due to late arrival (morning rain in DOH)
- tight leg space, moved to exit seat after take-off
- no OWE recognition

Missing the connecting flight / overnight stay in DOH
- gate arrival, far from transfer area, security check needed
- due to late arrival, missed the connecting flight to ADD - I was at transfer area 10-15 min before scheduled departure, there was no waiting for connecting passangers
- looong queues at transfer desk
- in the premium lane, it took 2 hours to get on the desk
- rerouting next morning via DBX, with EK DBX-ADD, hotel at the airport promised
- another 2 hours to finally get the new tickets/boarding passes, explained by slow response from Emirates
- no hotel room anymore available (it was midnight), lounge access offered "no beds, but to have some relax" (even I have access as OWE), personally guided to the Oryx lounge, it was noisy due to too many overnighting customers, and I moved to First lounge which is better in my opinion, but again, noisy, all the quiet room chairs accupied

DOH-DBX
- morning flight at 6:00, was delayed by 1.5 hours "due to rain in DBX"

Transfer in DBX
- change of terminal with bus, due to the 1.5 h delay, running to the gate since the departure time was already over
- DBX-ADD was also delayed by 1.5 h, so I made the connecting flight

DBX-ADD by Emirates, 777
- first time with EK, was a disappointment, little leg space, almost fully booked

ADD-DOH
- old version of 320, fully booked
- no recognition of OWE

Transfer in DOH
- bus gate, security check needed
- very looong queing for security check, no access to Fast Track, which was reserved for those with business or first ticket

DOH-HEL
- bus gate
- OWE recognized, "Mr Ukki, what would you like to have for breakfast", showing menu with choices, same for ca. 5 Plats
- breakfast (overmade sausage), and another service 2 h before landing (sandwich/pie)

I contacted QR for compensation on the delay, and upgrade for return flight as courtesy. Simple (expected) answer:

In the circumstances we believe thatthe delay of flight QR 304 was caused by extraordinary circumstances andoutside Qatar Airways' control for which no compensation is payable.Aviation rules exempt airlines from compensatory obligation in suchcircumstances.

Does anyone have experiences with QR? At least the decision not to wait for connecting passangers for a few minutes is an operational decision. In addition, 4 hours in transfer desk, missing also the possibility for hotel was a disaster and definitely not something that we expect as FFlyers.

I have yet to take my first QR flight, but your quite terrible experience is what I have heard to be typical of QR: great in the air, poor on the ground and just terrible when irrops happen.

+1
All the treats are for J and F. OWE in Y cannot access the good lounges (Al Mourjan, Al Safwa or any of the dedicated QR premium lounges around the world). I would avoid QR in Y- best to use the most direct carrier instead. i would definitely fly BA Y over QR Y

Been flying QR from HEL when they started last October. All trips in J and more than happy with service and offerings on board. A few little things could be done better on boarding in DOH.

Really enjoy the possibility to eat what I want from the menu WHEN I want. FA's active and feel getting personal service.

Also the A380 longe/bar is a great place to spend a few hours and kill time.

Flights been more or less in time.

For irrops it really depends on class of travel.

I have one experience of irrops with QR and they handled it excellently; travelling OSL-DOH-CRK in J. Due to a mechanical issue, the departure from OSL was delayed by a couple of hours so I missed my connection to CRK. Upon arrival at DOH, I was met by QR ground staff who already had a new boarding pass for me on the next flight to MNL some 8 hours later. He escorted me to the HIA airside hotel where they had arranged a room for me. And at MNL I was again met by a QR rep taking me through immigration and customs to a pre-paid taxi to take me to Clark, although by that time I had changed my arrangements and decided to stay in Manila instead.

Vow, they might be doing well! But TK is also two dailies, so there is a market.

I wonder to what destinations people fly with them mainly - Asia, Africa, M-East? The Americas would seem such a detour, that I don't think masses of ex-HEL pax fly them there. Also, to Asian destinations that AY also serves, I'd be reluctant to go via DOH, except if the price is right If I'd need a connection in Asia, than a HEL-DOH-xxx might be competitive with HEL-yyy-xxx, though.

I TK out of HEL to MIA via IST and most passengers seemed to have their final destination in Turkey or continuing to the Middle East/Africa. Interestingly upon deplaning there was a Gözen security agent asking people where you are transiting to. Most people where let directly airside, but I was sent to transit security because I was headed to the US. This was before the electronics ban craze.

It seems really difficult to Even find fares on QR from EU to Americas I would have gladly booked them Even with The detour Back when I credited Miles to AADV now I Will still book them over AY If Price IS Similar, but I tend to ride The STAR More often

That's a US thing only, they play their security theatre worldwide.

The good thing with IST transit is that if you arrive from the EU, you are dumped directly to airside, with no security. (LHR, I'm looking at you!!)
