Apparently manufactured spending is 'out' and manufactured 'controversy' is in.

Oooh...bloggers all be like up in each other's FA-CES!

Ooooh...gettin' some pop-coooorn.

Chris Elliot gettin' all up in BA's FACE!?

NO HE DI'INT!!

Honestly, folks, do you really think anyone's buying it. Now even Randy and Gary are 'feuding.'

Tell the truth: a suggestion was made a BAcon to manufacture controversy. Coooome on. You know it was!

Where was the Chris Elliot thing, I didn't catch it?

I saw VFTW's headline on the AA thing but hadn't bothered to click on it.

I did see this nugget:

I read what Randy wrote in the magazine, and I read what Gary wrote this morning.

I can just imagine the conversation between Randy and Gary.

You all know how long Chris and Gary have disagreed on nearly everything, right?

Like Kokonutz, I also clicked. Silly me. But remember that, as I pointed out earlier, Elliott strongly implied on his blog that Gary called him to encourage the move. Now we're starting to see why.

On the related topic above, 84fiero's oh-so-gently lobbed "nugget" is more like a grenade. Now that was well worth the click and then some.

And, yes, bthotugigem05, that's the running joke here.

And also hardly new. This thread calling it out is about as useful as the "fights" on the blogs themselves.

I think pointing out the good and bad helps bloggers.

Many bloggers seem to think that manufactured controversy is a great way to earn clicks.

But there is a downside/backlash to doing it because it insults the intelligence of many readers. Especially when the 'fights' are as blatantly staged as a Jerry Springer episode.

Bloggers should know that.

Thank goodness we have you to tell the whole world how bloggers should behave. Do you actually believe that you personally are the target audience for all of these blogs. If so, allow me to be the one to burst that bubble. You're not.

You're welcome! And to think I do it for FREE! No affiliate link app necessary to thank me. ^

Yes, you've pointed that out several times.

They are after the rubes. Just like Springer is. I think we all get that.

But just like a chef isn't preparing every meal with the food critic in mind, that fact doesn't mean we shouldn't point out what we consider to be 'worst practices' when we see them.
