Schengen visa question (non-US citizen traveling with US citizen)

My mom is a Chinese citizen. She will join me, a US citizen, on a trip to Europe, the principal country being Austria. She will apply for the Schengen visa at the German consulate in Chicago (per Austrian guideline).

A question came up - she needs to submit her hotel reservations, but all of them are in MY name since I planned the trip. Will that be a problem? We are thinking to submit my flights so they can see we are traveling together. Should that suffice?

Should I book refundable hotels in her name and cabcek after getting the visa?

Having the reservations in your name for two people should suffice. As it sounds like she has a US visa, LPR or other US status, she should have a pretty good chance of getting the visa.

+1. Been there, done that (other schengen consulates), no issues.
