Brussels on Boxing Day
I have a long layover in Brussels on Dec 26.

If I go into town, what can I expect to be open/closed ?

in (northern) Europe, most stores are closed on Boxing Day, or 'Second Christmas Day', as they call it sometimes. Sometimes big furniture stores are open, but usually the stores downtown are closed.

Your timing is perfect for the wonderful Brussels Christmas Market! It will be running on December 26 from 12 noon until 11pm. I went to this in 2012 and had a terrific time.
