As the ESC 2014 was won by an Austrian dragqueen with this act (it actually was not that bad...or maybe that's my Austrian pride speaking)

Well, fun story about that. In 2012 the ORF (Austrian broadcasting services) actually had a public vote about who to send to the ESC. Conchita Wurst ran as a candidate back then as well.
The Austrian public disliked her that much that they voted for this. I've propably never been more ashamed of my country than at this point. It's even worse when you understand the lyrics, be glad if you don't. Unsurprisingly enough we didn't even make it to finals.
In 2014 the ORF just said "screw the public", sent in Conchita, and we won
So, you see, it doesn't really matter what the Austrians think about her. Europe likes her.
