duty-free liquids and transit at IST
I will be flying YYZ-IST-FRA soon and was considering buying some duty-free liquor at YYZ.
1) I assume there will be a security check for transit pax at IST, but no immigration/passport check?
2) Are duty-free products over 100ml permitted through security (obviously in a sealed bag)?
I found the following info on theIST website :
If you have a connection flight within the European Community or United States, it is not permitted to carry any previously purchased duty-free products (over 100ml) as hand luggage even in sealed bags.
It´s poorly worded IMO, but it would seem the warning only applies to onward flights, not the ex-IST flight itself (e.g. I would be able to take the duty free articles through IST security, but articles purchased at IST duty free would be confiscated at FRA if I were flying IST-FRA-DUS)
Any recent experience?
