Does EY open First Class Aaprtment for redemption before departure?

Aiming to fly it this sunday JFK-AUH... looks like there are P2F5 seats open (looking at Sabre and Amadeus), but "O" class for award is still closed... DO you think they will open it up the day before departure?

Keep checking in. I've noticed they're opening seats up 1 week and 1-2 days before departure. I've also noticed weekdays are more likely than weekends. But usually they open all available seats the day or two beforehand. Sometimes you'll see 4-5 seats midweek.

From what I've seen it's generally 2-4 weeks out that seats open

It also depends on loads in the rest of the aircraft. If business is full (i.e. less than 7 seats being sold in "J" class), EY typically won't release O seats before departure. Presumably this is to ensure sufficient space in first class should there be a need for operational upgrades of business passengers.
