New a380 route to Melbourne - row 74?
Hi,
Just booked onto what sounds like the newly announced a380 route to Melbourne in September.
I'm trying to select economy seats and notice a difference in the seat booking tool to the seat plans available elsewhere.
When selecting seats, there is no 74B or 74J - suggesting row 74 will now be a 2-4-2 configuration rather than 3-4-3.
This is appealing as my partner and i won't be sat with anyone else, she can have her preferred window seat and i can have my preferred aisle seat too!
Can anyone confirm that this is correct though?? Can't help but think this might be an error, and that we'll actually end up with a stranger sat between us!
I don't see an obvious reason to have removed seats from the row.
If you know anything, please share

Unfortunately, I can confirm that the Etihad A380 has a 3-4-3 configuration. In any case, if you have booked onto the 777-300ER, it also has a 3-4-3 configuration. The reason I mentioned this is that all aircraft currently flying from AUH direct to MEL have a 3-4-3 configuration.
I'm not sure where the error has occurred, but is it possible that you're booked to MEL via a stopover somewhere? And the aircraft is an A330?
Of course there is the possibility that it is an Etihad A330/A340 to Melbourne - but to the best of my knowledge, Etihad don't fly the A330 or A340 to Melbourne (anymore).
If you gave me the flight number I could help you more.
Good luck

The flight number is EY 0460, and it's definitely an A380.
The plane is seated 3-4-3 apart from row 74 according to the seat selection pages - this just isn't reflected on any other seat map I can find. It might be new for this route, was hoping someone else may have heard about this to put my mind at rest that it isn't some error.
Thanks

The A380 configuration is 3-4-3, however, rows 74 and 75 are 2-4-2 (74AC-DEFG-HK / 75BC-DEFG-HJ).
Note, row 74 is the last row in cabin section 3, so may have limited recline.

Seatmaps for Etihad often seem out of date on seatguru and they have more up to date ones on their own website. It does confirm that it is 2 seats together in row 74:

Feedback after flying in row 74 on Etihad 380.
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you ended up sitting in row 74? How was it? I desperately want to know if it reclines normally or is severely limited? I have a 14 hour flight in row 74 coming up. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
