Can you get a car for a short stop in Dxb?

I just rang EK to release some seats I couldn't book.

I arrive in on ek18 at 12.15 midnight and depart to HND at 8 am. I qualify for Dubai connect but think it might be easier and preferable to head back to our place in Dubai. I was told I can't have a car to drop me off and pick me up because the stay is less than 24 hours? Anyone managed to do this?
Surely if I wanted to stay in a different hotel and not connect they would provide a car?

Pretty sure you used to be able to do this. Maybe they've changed the rules?

It sounds stupid, by the time I've checked in I could have got home - maybe austerity is kicking in, or perhaps after 6.5 hours of Dom on the 380 they know I'll only make it to the meridian.

By the way be careful when changing bookings on line this is f out j return, asked about upgrading the return and the extortionate fee they charge online is waived when you call them...

If you look at your manage booking, you will see cars available for pick up and drop off at DXB even though you are in transit. They show up and are bookable even if you have a 75min connection time.

Further you can always get the drop off by using your boarding pass at the chauffeur desk and take a taxi back. That may seem better as you can arrive at the airport 60mins before departure rather than 2 hours with the EK service.

Last time I had a transit at DXB (November ) the car option came up on the mobile site but was not there on the main website.

It was only a 4 hr 20 min transit and therefore I did not use it. It did not show up even on the mobile version on my return .( 3 hrs and 20 min transit )

I Wonder if they use a cut off of 4 hrs Plus for the car option?
