Comfy seating area Terminal 3?
I've got a 9hr stopover early on New Early Days - arriving around 5.30am so I don't think heading into the city is realistic, given it's early and New Years day. When I was transiting through the airport a few weeks ago i didn't see any comfy areas to sit and read & pass the time. I know there is a paid lounge I could use, but are there good seating areas hidden away somewhere?

I would hate the prospect of spending nine hours in transit at ANY airport (in fact, anything over around four would be pretty tedious IMO...!) and would always make the effort to get into town.
Assuming you are not limited by visa restrictions, there are so many ways to pass the time and see something of Dubai, have lunch, a swim etc etc. It's all been covered many times before on past threads asking much the same question.

I did 8hrs last yr in KL so I know what it's like. I would be quite keen to leave the airport however I land at about 5.30am on New Years day and I am presume a New Years day in Dubai is like pretty much everywhere else with everything shut down (especially at that hour of the morning!) so the airport, a good book and comfy chair it is for me.
