Emirates Lounges

Does anyone know which lounges are planned for the next couple of years? Seems like some (e.g. Amsterdam) would be justified based on service density. Thanks!

I read somewhere online that a lounge for LAX was in the works. Would make sense now that it is daily 380.
Once YYZ goes daily there will be a lounge there also I suspect.

Lots of talk, particularly recently, about Glasgow.

Interesting, would have thought they'd use the Qantas lounge at LAX....

If I do OLCI for my flight from LAX, can I get lounge access extra early?
ie: 6 hours before departure? Or do I need an invitation from EK staff?
I've got an 8 hour connection before EK216.

I believe you can use the lounge upto 24 hours prior to departure at least at DXB and other EK lounges, not sure about LAX as it is a partner lounge. I've used the lounge at JFK close to 9 hours prior to departure (checked in at 2 pm for an 11pm departure) without any issue as the lounge is open through out the day

EK are so unimpressed by the lounges in AMS that they currently don't use one. A voucher is offered instead. They want to build their own on top of the gate where the A380 parks but KLM keep fighting it.

Which one is used at GVA? My colleague (QF Plat) hosted me into a very tiny but well-supplied (food/drink) lounge when we flew EK out of GVA last year.

I'll be EK Gold by the time I fly out of AMS next month. The only benefit I see over Silver is access to lounges beyond DXB, so this is disappointing. (And my following trip is GVA, so it doesn't seem to get any better.)

Who issues the vouchers, and will I get one as Gold in Y? And what does the voucher provide?

It was the dnata lounge. Very small and the food wasn't great, it was too busy, no showers and the toilets were the public ones outside the lounge.

I guess ek sets the bar high with its lounge offerings.

I think it was the first class section of dnata that I visited; even tinier (seating for maybe 20?), no showers/toilets. Didn't try the food but it looked pretty average. We were only there for an hour or so.

Yeah, it's hard to measure up to the EK lounges in DXB.

I wasn't able to do OLCI. I arrived at LAX on AS and was able to use the Boardroom until I went to check in for the EK flight.
