* For the 6 remaining new destinations (apart from HND and CRK), I think we are looking at 3 more Europe (Stockholm, Oslo, Kiev), 1 Africa (Kinshasa or Abuja), 1 North America (likely Miami rather than Chicago or Boston) and 1 Asia or Subcontinent (Chengdu, Taipei or something in India).

* Some of the added capacity may be used for frequency reinforcements: a second daily Dublin, a third daily Birmingham or Rome, a fourth daily Manchester, a third daily Brisbane are just some of the options.

Is there any confirmation of which new destination is actually happening or no information for sure yet?

Emirates Opens Malpensa Lounge

Posted on March 5, 2013 by Tom Allett

On March 5, Emirates celebrated the opening of its 35th dedicated lounge for First Class and Business Class passengers as well as Platinum and Gold members of Emirates Skywards the airlines frequent flyer programme, at Milan Malpensa Airport.

The new 2.48 million lounge at Milan Malpensa is the first international lounge to feature the airlines contemporary new interior design.

The grand opening was marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mohammed Mattar, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services and Giulio De Metrio, SEA Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO.

At the opening ceremony, Mohammed H Mattar, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Airport Services said: This new Emirates Lounge reaffirms our dedication to providing our premium customers with consistently high standards.

This opening aims to strengthen our commitment to the city, where we have established our presence with three daily flights in addition to our AC Milan sponsorship.

As a solo flyer in J, the 380 is much nicer, correct? It looks like there is more privacy to the seat and no one has to climb over you? I'm hoping the 380 is used on the LAX route soon...

Correct. Whilst the P experience is more or less identical on B77W and A380 (bar the shower and the absence on inflight internet) the difference is bigger in J. More privacy on the A380 (like a mini suite), and most importantly: it's a fully horizontal bed. The J seats on the B77W are slightly angled.

SOrry, slightly OT.

But I hope for the A380 to LAX as well.

From what was said previously, LAX should get the A380 from the middle of October followed by SFO in November. Let's see if it gets confirmed.

Doesn't make sense to launch Miami in summer. Miami is a peak winter route, and it is always ideal to launch routes in peak season, so October/November would be more likely.

And it's restored
As per 12MAR13 GDS Inventory display, Emirates has restored 3rd daily Dubai Milan Malpensa EK093/094 flight listing, hours after Airline Route (on 11MAR13) reported the airline temporary removed the flight for travel on/after 03FEB14. EK093/094 was removed from the system and schedule listing since late-Feb 2013.

However, only First Class service on EK093 is open for reservation, while Business and Economy Class, as well as EK094 remains closed for reservation. In addition, EK093/094 on/after 03FEB14 is displaying 3-class Boeing 777-300 operating, replacing -300ER with First Class Suite.

Schedule from on/from 03FEB14:
EK101 DXB0340 0745MXP 332 D
EK093 DXB0855 1250MXP 773 D
EK091 DXB1540 1935MXP 773 D

EK102 MXP1015 1920DXB 332 D
EK094 MXP1425 2330DXB 773 D
EK092 MXP2110 0615+1DXB 773 D

If there is a official release from EK. If they started nonstop DXB-MIA or BOS. It doesn't matter for which the specific route is that. Try to give some time. If they deployed the 77W or A380 aircraft. South Florida is a very popular leisure vacation trip. There are too many passengers who went onto the cruise to Caribbean or Transatlantic ocean. South Florida is getting more extremely overcrowded.

Since the 8th of March Emirates has been using a 3-class B777-300ER on the HKT route, any news on a permanent change to the B777?

Also, Emirates has changed their aircraft on the WAW route, since the 16th of March, they use a 3-class B777-300ER on that route now.

I havent seen any news on both routes, however both got upgraded to the B777 from the A330 and A340.

Not sure why the switch from 330 to 77W/772 on the WAW route. In my opinion loads and yields definitely don't need the big capacity. Its supposed to switch back to the 332 on 12APR13.

HKT seems to also just be temporary until 21MAR13 where it switches back to the 343.
