Delta employee gets busted for bypassing TSA at JFK T2

Boards a flight to Orlando without ever passing through security.

That's pretty bad, but the most egregious part? He was given seat 3B. You mean to tell me that every Medallion was upgraded? Or is this a case of double shenanigans?

Really absurd that he was able to get by. I'm not sure why anyone would think that he wouldn't be noticed.

There were in fact ZERO medallions on the UG list - 5 non revs were cleared into F.

Let me clarify my statement - all the medallions were cleared - so none were left on the UG list when non-revs cleared.

That, and possibly Medallions sitting in the back because Delta IT clicked the "Refused Upgrade" button for them and they didn't know any better to ask the GA.

I saw this story this am and had exactly the same reaction. Guess I jumped to the wrong conclusion as well.

I thought about that too, but I'm pretty sure if there was something illegal found in the bag when he was arrested, it would have been part of the story.

My question is: Why didn't he have a gate pass or standby/seat request card? This is why TSA originally didn't let him pass. Did he just not feel like checking in with the ticketing agent literally 50 feet away? (I admit I'm not aware of what the proper protocol for nonreving is.)

There were none in coach, only 3 on the flight.

This is just another variant of a DYKWIA story. Let's just move it to that horribly long consolidated DYKWIA thread! That way most of FT will never hear about it.

At least he wasn't hogging up valuable DYKWIA space in the Sky Priority line @:-)

Have to say I really don't understand this one. This guy has all the background checks necessary to bypass security on any given day, and he presumably has access to the company's planes airside as part of his job. Why is it illegal for him to get on a plane?

And as for his alleged lack of a boarding pass, if he had a seat assignment as a NRSA, he had a boarding pass.

Does this make sense to anyone?
